Coaches Charismatic and Authoritarian

A charismatic coach would be my first choice in most situations however, it is fair to say that in some situations an authoritarian coach would be better. Charismatic coaches are known to have the encouraging characteristic and known to be fun and joyful in the sports atmosphere. They also do not care so much about the winning just more that the kids have fun. They are more revolved around the follower, "player." It is important to note that during a situation needing commands and order the authoritarian coach would obviously be the best. They create order and make things happen quick. In the last game of the playoffs you're down by one and there is chaos, absolutely would the authoritarian coach be better off.

Leader

Someone that I think is definitely a leader is Walt Disney. He has had such a huge positive influence in so many people lives. He never ever gave up on his dreams and always followed his heart and did exactly what he wanted to do. He never let anything that anyone said stop him or slow him down in the process. In his industry he was the first to do many things in animation like the first cartoon character with color, the first cartoon with sound, first full length animated feature. Everything he did lead the animation industry to where it is today. He also created "theme parks," before Walt Disney there were just amusement parks but he wanted to create a park with a story and theme behind it. Walt Disney has helped so many people to be encouraged to pursue their dreams. Although he is not alive anymore he has always been such a great role model for kids. Most importantly he brought joy to children and adults with his cartoons and with his theme parks and brought families closer together.

Organic Farming Slam Poem

Organic Farming
By Nicole McCord

Organic farming, organic farming
Little is to know how much you actually are harming
The earth
The people
The bugs
And the economy
Some people think you are still owned by a small family
Maybe some ten years ago when people still had jobs and the economy was alright
But now you barely have to pick a fight
To get one hundred percent of your food organic for sure
The process of how they are grown is much of a blur
Some of you tree huggers think organic farming is the way to go
But in reality it truly is not so
Organic farms produce fewer yields
So much more lands are taken in to become fields
Causing a larger imbalance in the ecosystems
So maybe go reevaluate your latest theorems
About this issue that can save you alot of dough
The organic farms are not making the universe flow
You say mmmm these tomatoes taste so juicy and great
They are even the reddest ones i've seen to date
When really they aren't and it's all in your mind
If you did some actual research you really would find
That organic foods are no better than the rest
They could even cause a severe pain in your chest
With the lack of intensity in all of the pesticides
They are used more frequently causing many cases of ecoli's
Maybe your sick and you think organic foods will heal you
Lets just say it's really such bull poo
That these foods are loaded with nutrients, antioxidants and especially vitamins
You are basically as knowledgeable as Charlie Sheen when he says he wins
If you want to pay twice as much for your food
Then might I say you are crazy dude
Also if you want your food to be genetically modified
I can honestly say I will not eat a meal by your side
And if you want to have your foods loaded with copper and sulfur
The use of these pesticides should seriously cause a stir
But these organic farms are becoming cocky and shady
Ten years back we may have personally known the lady
Who started this all the way back to its root
Little did she know it would cause such a hoot
And make organic farming turn into the most profitable industry
I know in my heart to support them is besides me
Organic farming, organic farming
Seriously do you know how much you actually are harming?

Becoming Bansky

On Monday our class participated in the becoming Banksy project. To be honest I was slightly concerned when Ms. Hasson first assigned it but when she became so incredibly excited about it then that's when I became excited too. Jono and I immediately came up with our idea and it wasn't too complicated with supplies. Our idea was to write out the word TENURE in big letters in caution tape on the walls in the elevator near our classroom in the AC building. We didn't have to go too early to school to set up but it was a little awkward while we were setting it up. The maintenance guy came into the elevator while we were beginning to set it up so we had to wait til he went out of the elevator. I think we rode up and down about 10 times. About five minutes after we set it up the maintenance guy came back and took it all down. As we walked around to each persons art the ideas were cooler and cooler. All of the arguments were great and I agreed with them all. My favorite I think was the ones in the parking lot with the extra spots and also the staff spots changed to also student spots. This project as a whole was awesome, it was a really fun handson project to do. I'm also so glad our teacher did not get in trouble since it caused such a stir around campus.

Education

Tenure is probably the thing that bothers me the most about education. It basically gives the teacher no incentive to teach. Once a teacher hits tenure their whole dynamic changes. They don't have to teach with passion, with fun or anything like that. All they have to do is be there and teach something and they will not get fired. In my own experience I have had so many horrible teachers that were protected by tenure. They did not teach, all they did was show us movies, pile on a bunch of work and boss us around. Teachers with tenure are usually the ones who do not deserve their jobs. I have had teachers that were full of passion and amazing and so into the subject they taught but because of budget cuts they were the ones fired. The great teachers that actually are there because they WANT to teach deserve the job over the teacher with the stack of complaints who sits and twiddles their thumbs.

Exit Through The Gift Shop

I loved this documentary. I absolutely love looking around at street art everywhere I see it. The whole process of it is so cool and exciting. All of the artists (except Thierry) were so unique and amazing. I thought Thierry Guetta was a complete weirdo. He had a two second attention span and could not stick to one idea. He also was very unoriginal. He took other peoples ideas and attempted to make them his own. I also didn't like how he thought he could just be famous after one show that he basically didn't even do anything for. He hired a bunch of people and ordered them around while he scooted around on his one leg scooter. Banksy was definitely my favorite but he kind of creeped me out during the entire documentary. He was definitely the most talented and creative. I think Thierry should have just stuck to his first hobby filming. He completely deserted his family throughout the whole movie and I do not know how his wife stayed with him. By the end of the documentary I did not like Thierry very much as an artist or as a person. The part that stuck out to me the most was definitely when Thierry and Banksy were at Disneyland. That was not cool to me whatsoever. Why would they do that at a place where there are little kids that could get scared by it. And why did Thierry lie about it just for Banksy. I did not like that at all either. All an all a great documentary. It will definitely make me more aware about spotting street art and appreciating all that goes with it.

LOVE

So Monday, Valentines Day,  in class we talked about love and relationships and giving advice. I feel like giving relationship advice is great but every relationship is different and if you don't understand how the people are in the relationship then advice is hard to give. It's also hard having people that are not in a relationship understand the problems you're having or even try to relate. I feel like so many relationship problems stem from jealousy and not trusting the other person. Trust is so important in a relationship and I believe that if the other person hasn't done anything to lose your trust then trust them fully without question until they prove you otherwise. Girls are so crazy about other girls even talking to their boyfriends and they start fights and become crazy jealous and then eventually the guy will go crazy and break up with them because of it. But then again guys can be completely overprotective and do the exact same. People just need to be honest and have faith in each other otherwise a relationship can never succeed. Another important thing is don't give up everything especially your friends when you're in a relationship. So many people do this, especially girls, and once they break up they literally have no one and come crying back to their old friends who most likely will not accept them. Also not having friends is so unattractive to the other person especially if they kept close relationships with their friends because that person will become completely dependent and not let the other person hangout with their friends. One of my best friends just broke up with her boyfriend of three years. Ever since middle school she has always had a boyfriend and now being single she actually doesn't know what to do with herself. Since she always had a boyfriend she never really kept close relationships except with me and like two other people. Its just not a healthy way to live. Relationships are supposed to be fun especially when were so young and have so much ahead of us, why stress over the little things.
